I have 30 years’ experience in the fine jewelry industry, including bench training, and have been stringing pearls for fine jewelry stores in Sarasota since 2001. I’m knowledgeable about gemstone and pearl treatments as well as common industry manufacturing methods. I have a master’s degree in art history as well, so regional or period styles and significant designers are second nature. Pick a professional, not a craft store.

Services
Knotting & stringing
Fine pearls
From dainty seed pearls to luxurious baroque beauties, I can knot them all. Pieces are knotted on silk or a durable synthetic, both available in a rainbow of colors, finished with bullion wire or bead tips, and pearls are always gently cleaned before being put back on the strand.
Gemstone beads
Jade Buddha heads. Faceted sapphire rondelles. Carved onyx leaves. Smooth lapis spheres. Whatever it is, I can make it up or put it back together. Heavy beads or sharp holes? I can handle it. Robust knots keep the stones from grinding each other to dust and protect against loss if the piece ever breaks.
Knotless stringing
Some pieces don't require knots or clients prefer not to have them. Knotless stringing on a variety of materials, including cable wire, elastic, or durable thread, is also available.
on-site and Remote work
If you'd rather your items stay in-store, I am pleased to work on-site in professional dress for an additional surcharge. Just find me a comfortable spot to work and I'll be there for a morning or an afternoon. Call or email for arrangements to ensure I'm available when you need me. Not in Sarasota? Wire work
If string's not the thing, I am happy to build Roman-style beaded links and I love to make earrings from loose beads or pearls. Ask about gold, sterling or argentium, or affordable materials such as bronze or gold-filled wire. My loops are small, neat and stay closed every time, with no sharp tips to scratch or catch.
Costume restoration & bead weaving
Many fine jewelry stores won't take in costume pieces or lack the expertise to re-weave elaborate creations. I'm happy to schedule a consultation to decide how best to restore a favorite vintage piece or costume treasure.
Other accessories
If you’re looking for something other than standard necklaces, bracelets, or earrings, let me know. I have experience in millinery design as well, and have made many tiaras, hair combs and other accessories for happy brides on their wedding days. Seashells, beach glass, faux or freshwater pearls, crystal, or resin flowers add glamour to any occasion.
